LYNN – A judge ordered a South Easton man held without bail Friday after a city teen told police the man robbed him midday Thursday outside a local school.Ali T. Abdallah-Muhammad, 21, of 41 Foundry St., S. Easton, was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery; possession with intent to distribute Class D drugs; assault and battery on a police officer; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; disorderly conduct; a drug violation near a school; and resisting arrest; at 1:41 p.m. Thursday. He was arraigned on the charges Friday in Lynn District Court where a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.A 17-year-old city man told police he was resting in the parking lot of the Fecteau-Leary school when the defendant approached, punched him in the face and then demanded “all your stuff,” Lynn Police Officer Oscar Flores Jr. wrote in a report. The teen told police the man – described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male with a tattoo on his neck, a goatee and wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a baseball hat – stole the teen’s cell phone and cash, police reported. An officer on bike patrol reported a man matching the suspect description crossing through a nearby parking lot. The officer noted the suspect had what appeared to be a small blood stain on his T-shirt; The man “said it was ketchup,” Lynn Police Officer Michael O’Connell reported.Officers confirmed the description and asked Adallah-Muhammad to stop, O’Connell wrote.Abdallah-Muhammad allegedly reached for a solid object creating a bulge in his right pant pockets when asked to stop. The officer reported grabbing Abdallah-Muhammad’s hand and the suspect tried to flee, causing the officer to fall.Police said Abdallah-Muhammad broke free after kicking the officer under the chin. Police caught Abdallah-Muhammad after a brief foot chase and reported recovering six individually wrapped bags of suspected marijuana from a backpack he was carrying. Police reported Abdallah-Muhammad told police he was at the library and “didn’t do anything.”Assistant District Attorney Shailagh Kennedy cited the “use of violence against a random member of the community to rob” in requesting Abdallah-Muhammad be held without bail pending a dangerous hearing, according to court documents.Judge James LaMothe ordered Abdallah-Muhammad held without bail and scheduled his dangerousness hearing for Thursday.
