SAUGUS – A Lynn teen is in jail and a Saugus man is out on personal recognizance after an armed robbery at the Richdale Convenience Store on Lincoln Avenue Thursday night.Michael P. Davis, 19, of 15 Echo Place, Lynn, was arrested and charged with armed robbery while Ryan P. McCauley, 20, of 59 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact (armed robbery) and receiving stolen property under $250 on Thursday at 10:49 p.m., according to records from Lynn District Court.Davis was ordered held on $15,000 cash bail at his arraignment in Lynn District Court on Friday and McCauley was released on personal recognizance.Police responded to the Richdale Convenience Store at 304 Lincoln Ave. at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of an armed robbery, according to court records. An employee there told police a white male wearing a black hoodie showed a black handgun and demanded money and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes, said the report.Shortly after, a woman told police she saw the suspect run down Seagirt Avenue and take a left onto Atlas Avenue. Police searched the area around the Bristow Street park and the report states a neighbor told officers they saw two males wearing dark clothes walk out of the park and head toward Serino Way.Police stopped two males walking on Carr Road, later identified as Davis and McCauley, both of whom were wearing dark clothing. Police searched them and found a pack of Marlboros on McCauley and around $100 on Davis.The report also states the robbery suspect was wearing camouflage shorts and in the report it says Davis was wearing jogging pants over a pair of camouflage shorts.When asked why he was wearing two pairs of pants, the report states Davis told police, “I just got out of work and didn?t want to ruin my shorts.”When asked where they were coming from, the report states Davis and McCauley told police “we were just in the park smoking a butt.”Police arrested the two and after three witnesses were brought to the scene, they identified Davis as the robbery suspect.The report also states that while he was being placed in a cruiser, Davis told police, “I did it. He didn?t have anything to do with it.” He also told police that the handgun he used was a BB gun and wasn?t loaded, said the report. Davis said the gun fell out of his pants when he was climbing a fence, but the report states police searched the area and could not find it.Davis and McCauley are due back in court on Sept. 26.
