There were plenty of encouraging signs from the host KIPP boys soccer team Monday despite its 4-1 loss to Pacific Rim at Manning Field.The visitors scored twice in each half while the Panthers got one back in the latter stages of the contest. Jesse Giron chipped a shot past the Pacific Rim keeper following a takeaway in front of the net in the 65th minute.Coach Evan Kramer praised keeper Jordany Delgado, who played his first game in net and made seven saves.?For his first time in goal, I thought Jordany played an excellent game,” said Kramer. “He was tenacious and showed great aggression in coming out to meet some balls. He looked very comfortable in there.”Kramer also saw positives on the back end, praising defenders Jason Lopez and Carlos Estrada for their solid play.?Both of them played very well tonight,” explained Kramer. “They were active in the back end and had several takeaways.”Jurvet Fuath also impressed, according to Kramer, who lauded his player?s efforts on both sides of the ball.?He played solid defense while finding open space on offense, which led to some chances that just missed their mark,” said Kramer.Georgetown 2, Lynnfield 0At Georgetown, the visiting Pioneers failed to score while surrendering a goal in each half.
