Roundup: English boys cross country defeats Revere

The English High boys cross country team picked up its first win, 27-29, over Revere Wednesday at Beverly. The Bulldogs lost to Beverly, 18-45.Tyler Comer of English finished first overall against Revere and third against Beverly (18:42). The other English finishers were: Ri Yan, fourth overall against Revere (19:38); Emmanuel Ezemba, fifth overall (19:40); Adam Bryson, eighth overall (22:23) and Connor Gallant, ninth overall (23:17). English is 1-2.Peabody 15, Classical 50Peabody 15, Salem 48Salem 17, Classical 43At Lynn Woods, the Tanners? (3-0) top finishers were: Matty D?Amato (1st overall, 18:59); Anthony Pizzo (2nd overall, 19:41); Steve May (3rd overall, 19:42) and Travis Dawe (4th overall, 19:53). For Classical, Eric Macorri finished fourth overall against Salem (21:00). Kevin Chasse also ran well for the Rams (1-2) with a 22:41.Man-Essex 17, Saugus 45At Breakheart Reservation, Nick Monaco recorded his personal best time at Breakheart for the Sachems (18:23, fourth overall). Evan Covell (19:07) finished eighth overall and Mike Mansfield (19:52) finished 10th overall for Saugus (0-3).Swampscott 26, Danvers 27S?scott 15, Winthrop 50At Deer Island in Winthrop, the Big Blue got strong performances from Matt Mahoney (14:16), Bennett Smith (15:17); Marco Scibelli (15:22), Robert McLaughlin (15:36) and Noah Conti (16:03).Pentucket 17, Lynnfield 44At Lynnfield, the Pioneers? Chase Davidson finished fourth overall on the 2.95-mile course with an 18:05. Tim Rice took seventh (18:55) and Sam Johnson, 10th (19:16). Lynnfield is 1-2.M?head 25, Gloucester 36At Gloucester, the Magicians? (2-0) took third place through 11th place. Marblehead?s top three finishers were: Chris Rodts (3rd overall, 15:52), Conrad Rousseau (4th overall, 16:10) and Jared Kokinos (5th overall, 16:12).GIRLS CROSS COUNTRYPeabody 15, Classical 50Peabody 15, Salem 50Salem 24, Classical 31At Lynn Woods, the trio of Julia Merchant (1st overall, 22:53), Mackenzie Picardy (2nd overall, 23:08) and Caitlin Collins (3rd overall, 23:21) led the way for Peabody (3-0). For the Rams (0-3), Amina Babic finished second overall against Salem (27:13).
