NAHANT – The Nahant Council on Aging is hoping to attract younger seniors to their group with an Asian-themed party open to the town on Oct. 5. Executive Director Linda Peterson said she wants to get residents up to speed on what the senior center does. “Even if they?re not quite there yet, it will give people an idea what to offer in future years or for their parents if they are taking care of elderly parents.”But the information won?t take away from the fun, said Peterson. Some of the organization?s newsletters will be available for attendees, but with lots of Thai, Japanese and Chinese food, a Cambodian dance team, and traditional Asian costumes and decorations, the information won?t be center stage. The event is being sponsored by a grant from Greater Lynn Senior Services. The event takes place at Town Hall from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. With a $10 ticket, each attendee gets one free voucher for beer and wine from the three countries being featured, with every additional voucher at $2.For tickets, call Peterson at 781-581-7557.
