Cruisers gathered outside 170 Chestnut St., across from the intersection with Mason Street and Spiro’s Energy gas station while police, fire and emergency personnel huddled around the two victims who were on the sidewalk. Emergency personnel loaded the female victim onto a backboard as she moaned in pain. There appeared to be a bandage on her left leg as she was loaded in the ambulance. A male victim sat on the sidewalk curb with a bandage around his head.
Emergency workers put him into a neck brace before loading him into an ambulance. He appeared quiet but conscious at the scene.

Officers pushed the crowd back and expanded the crime scene as ballistic evidence was discovered a few feet, and then a few feet more, away from where the victims had been huddling on the sidewalk.Family and friends of the victim gathered but declined to comment at the scene. Police said the investigation remained ongoing.
