Roundup: Fenwick volleyball setting torrid pace

The Bishop Fenwick volleyball team keeps piling up the wins with the latest a 3-0 victory over Arlington Catholic at Peabody on Tuesday.The Crusaders (9-1) won 25-10, 25-21, 25-18. Gianna Pizzano led the assault with 7 kills and 11 digs. Jen Crovo (6 kills, 9 digs); Tessa McLaughlin (35 assists, 5 aces) and Kate Lipka (19 kills, 4 blocks) also came up big. The Crusaders need one more win to qualify for the state tournament.FIELD HOCKEYActon-Boxboro 7, Bishop Fenwick 0At Peabody, the Crusaders (6-3) found themselves down 4-0 at the half against the 2012 Division 1 state champions.BOYS CROSS COUNTRYPeabody 20, English 35At Peabody, the Tanners took four of the top five places to help solidify the win. Despite the strong showing by Peabody, English?s Tyler Comer won the race with a time of 16:23.Finishing second through fifth for Peabody (4-0) were Anthony Pizzo (16:33), Josh Rizzo (16:55), Manny Viera (16:57), and Travis Dawe (17:10).English?s record dropped to 2-3 on the season.Revere 18, Classical 32At Lynn Woods, the Rams (1-4) had strong performances from Eric Maccore, third with a time of 20:40; Elias Bakos, seventh (21:33) and Johan Salvador, eighth (23:19).Marblehead 22, Danvers 35At Danvers, the Magicians moved to a perfect 4-0 on the season. They were led by overall winner Chris Rodts (16:27). Also running well in the win for Marblehead were Conrad Rousseau, third (17:05) and placing fifth was Adam Linsky (17:15).GIRLS CROSS COUNTRYMarblehead 22, Danvers 37At Danvers, six of the top 10 finishers wore the red and black of Marblehead as the team ran its record to 3-0 on the season. For the Magicians, Lily Roberts was their top finisher, taking second place overall with a time of 19:16. Finishing third was Janaya Randall (19:34) while the fourth and fifth spots were occupied by Sarah Oliver (20:02) and Paige Ferruci. Noelle Villa finished in eighth (21:20) while Anna Barrell was not too far behind in ninth (21:24).Revere 14, Classical 40At Lynn Woods, Monica Meas finished sixth (26:30), Amina Babic, seventh (26:45) and Lori Rodriguez, eighth (27:16) for the Rams (0-5). Revere?s Niki Nelson won the race (22:00).
