BEVERLY – On Saturday, the historic Larcom Theatre in downtown Beverly comes to life with music once again when The Allen Estes Band takes the stage for one night only.Known to thousands of New England fans as Gloucester’s best and most prolific songwriter, Allen Estes’ award-winning songs have been recorded by Tammy Wynette, Shania Twain, Dave Mallett, Tom Wopat and The Judds. Allen also wrote “Where’d They Go” (the official song of the City of Gloucester) and songs for “The Souls of the Sea” musical. This is a rare chance to see Allen Estes with a six-piece, all-star band featuring multi-platinum guitarist David Brown along with Fairport Convention founder Dave Mattacks on drums, Matt Leavenworth on fiddle, Steve Burke on keyboards and Wolf Ginandes on bass.”After the public’s ecstatic reaction to our sold out Mardi Gras concert, we knew the Larcom Theatre was a perfect venue to showcase top local talent from the Boston area,” explains Peter Van Ness of GIMMELIVE, who is producing the concert.”Allen’s music blends pop, rock, folk and country into a unique New England sound that speaks to the soul of this place and touches us deeply,” he continues. “Allen takes his audience to places they’ve never been before – and with his full band, they’ll be on their feet by the end of the show, just like they were in April.”
