The St. Mary’s boys and girls cross country competed in this year’s edition of the Thetford (Vt.) Woods Trail Run in Vermont Saturday afternoon. Plenty of Spartans made in impact at the event, which consisted of over 2,000 runners from eight states.”I have been up to this event with three different schools now and it has been a great experience for the kids and myself each time,” said St. Mary’s coach Dom Finelli. “We got some solid times from a number of kids this year, and I was very pleased with their effort.”Anthony Delvecchio ran a winning time of 21:01.63 in the fifth 5k boys race of the afternoon while teammate Cordel Henriques finished second at 21:06.99. Fellow Spartan Brennan Pramberg (22:20.11) finished in ninthThe Spartans had three Top 10 finishers in the third boys race as Thomas Mackin (18:46.86) and Cody Murtagh (19:05.52) finished second and fourth respectively while Mike Cerulli placed ninth with a time of 19:16.69.In girls action, the Spartans got standout performances in the fourth race of the day from Elizabeth Weisse (24:38.07) and Hannah Walker (24:56.15) who placed second and sixth respectively. Josephine Tenney ran a 26:30.00 in the final girls race of the day, good for a second place finish.
