The Classical golf team has struggled for the majority of this season, dropping eight of its first 10 contests. On Monday afternoon, however, the Rams worked out the kinks in a 41 1/2-30 1/2 victory over Revere at Cedar Glen Golf Course in Saugus.Classical got an impressive victory from Brett Erelli, who won 8 1/2-1/2 from his spot atop the Rams lineup. Andre Gaudet provided another big win for Classical, winning 8-1 out of the No. 7 spot.No. 2 Kyle Morrill and No. 4 Mark Brazell had to sweat out their matches a bit more but managed to come away with victories. Morrill hung on to win 5-4 while Brazell prevailed 5 1/2-3 1/2.Now at 3-8, the Rams will look to keep the momentum going against a familiar opponent and rival in English. The two teams, who share a home course, will meet today at Gannon (3:45).St. Mary?s 179, Fenwick 123At Gannon, the Spartans got a match-high 28 points from Nick Amenta as well as matching 27s from Shawn MacBurnie and Richie McDonald. St. Mary?s also got solid production from Emmit O?Shea (26), Brendan O?Neill and Brad Dill (24) as well as Brian Bouchard (23). James Dellisola led Fenwick with 20 points. The Spartans (7-6) play today at home versus Archbishop Williams.Peabody 48, English 24At Gannon, the visiting Tanners got a fantastic team effort with each player earning a victory. Peabody winners included Nolan Franey at No. 1 as well as Matt Correale (No. 2), Steve Ferrante (No. 3) and Ted Izzo (No. 4). The Tanners, now 9-5-1, tee off again today in Salem. The Bulldogs fall to 2-8.Winthrop 43, Swampscott 29At Tedesco Country Club, Anthony Springthorpe shot a 1-under 35 with two birdies to win at No. 3, 6-3, but that was the only win for the Big Blue (5-9, 2-4 NEC). Noah Maercklein halved his match at No. 2.Beverly 44, Salem 28At Olde Salem Greens, the host Witches (5-9) had two players halve their matches in the loss as Madison Ballou and Wes Schaejbe earned splits.FIELD HOCKEYMarblehead 1, Gloucester 0At Gloucester, Hannah Fobert scored 15 minutes into the game with Eliza Fitzgerald getting the assist. The Magicians (8-4) kept the pressure on the entire game, but the Gloucester goalie and defense came up big a couple of times. Cassidy Alla had the shutout for Marblehead.Beverly 3, Peabody 0At Peabody, the Tanners lost but looked considerably better than the first time the two teams met and Beverly won 6-0.
