CHELSEA – Revere Police assisted in arresting two men who allegedly tried to send marijuana through the mail, according to a department press release.Joseph Masci, 61, of Melrose, and Adam Shea, 20, of Saugus, were each charged with possession with intent to distribute Class D marijuana; and conspiracy.According to police, a dog “hit” on a package that was being processed through the U.S. Postal Service. Investigators with the State Police Suffolk County Drug Unit and Revere Police tracked the package through delivery and arrested the two suspects Oct. 2 in a parking lot on Broadway when they exchanged the alleged drugs, according to police.Masci was held on $1,500 cash bail, and Shea was released on personal recognizance when arraigned in Chelsea District Court, according to Jake Wark, a spokesperson for Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley. Both Masci and Shea are scheduled to return to court on Oct. 31.
