Senior co-captains Neil Lahrizi and Roman Ganchin anchored the Big Blue (2-7-2) defense.Ipswich 2, Saugus 1At Ipswich, the Sachems (3-7-2) tied the game midway through the first half, when Justin Kwadje scored (1-1). Ipswich scored 10 minutes later, and Saugus could not find the net the rest of the way. Owen Andruchow had a strong game in net for the Sachems.Danvers 3, English 1At Danvers, the Falcons jumped to quick 2-0 lead in the first half. English (6-4-2) cut the deficit in half (2-1), when Eddie Ayinla found the back of the net. Danvers scored its third goal with two minutes left in the game to pull away from the Bulldogs. Daniel Rovira had a strong performance at midfield for English.Danvers (7-1-5) had goals from Jackson McPherson, Pat Kidney (first varsity goal) and Mark McCarthy. The Falcons qualified for the touranment with the win.Marblehead 4, Salem 2At Marblehead, the Witches (1-7-3) had goals from Matt Muse and Simon Barats. Goalie Tom Engstrom have six or seven great saves to keep Salem in the game.Hamilton-Wenham 3, Lynnfield 1At Lynnfield, the Pioneers (2-8-2) took a 1-0 lead on a first-half goal by Lucas Coehlo (Kuba Jablonka assist), but Hamilton-Wenham’s Russell Gregorian took it upon himself to score three unanswered goals in the second half.
