LYNN – A judge ordered a city woman held on a prior case and set $2,500 cash bail for new charges after police said the woman stabbed her boyfriend to make him look for $100 allegedly stashed in the house.”When he informed her that there was nothing there, (the defendant) insisted he should keep on looking,” Lynn Police Officer Nhen Tran wrote in a report. “At this time, (the defendant) took a knife and stuck him on the right thigh and demanded he keep on searching.”But the defendant said she was the one who had been assaulted.Sarina D. Tomassi, 28, of 29 Rogers Ave. #1, was arrested and charged with assault and battery; and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; on Sunday.Tomassi was arraigned on the charges in Lynn District Court Tuesday where a plea of not guilty was entered on her behalf.Police responded to the Rogers Avenue address at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday and found the victim with cuts on his fingers, a small puncture wound on his right thigh and scratches on his chest, according to the police report. The alleged victim said Tomassi – who the alleged victim said had not slept for six days before earlier that morning – woke the alleged victim up “freaking out about her money” and “out of control,” according to police. The alleged victim said Tomassi ordered him to search the kitchen for $100 and then stole money from the alleged victim while he was searching, according to police. Tomassi then allegedly attacked the alleged victim with the knife.Police said the alleged victim reported he grabbed the knife and pushed Tomassi against the wall to end the struggle.Tomassi said the alleged victim was the aggressor.Tomassi told officers the alleged victim found $600 she had hidden in an accordion and accused her of stealing the money from him, according to police. Tomassi said the alleged victim slapped her across the face twice and kicked her twice on the shin as they argued, according to police.Police reported seeing a small bruise on Tomassi’s shin. They also reported finding $600 and the alleged victim’s credit card when they arrested and searched Tomassi. Police reported finding a knife with a blood stain on it, but noted the alleged victim said Tomassi was armed with two knives during the incident.Police will issue a summons for the alleged victim based on Tomassi’s statement, according to the police report.Lynn District Court Judge James LaMothe revoked Tomassi’s bail on a Chelsea case and set $2,500 cash bail for the new charges, according to court documents. Tomassi was also ordered to abide by a restraining order.Defense attorney Bradford Stanton said Thursday that his client denied the allegations and would challenge the case.”The alleged victim in this case is an individual with a history of violence who I would suggest has repeatedly filed false charges against the (defendant),” Stanton said.
