SWAMPSCOTT – Live entertainment is coming back to the Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott on Nov. 1 for the first time since the restaurant and lounge was sold in early summer.Boston area and Las Vegas crooner Johnny Ray, a frequent performer at the Red Rock, along with his Johnny Ray Band, will be booking entertainment for the oceanview venue, beginning with his own band on Nov. 1.”We’re going to have some old faithfuls and some new acts,” Ray said this week, adding that Boy Named Sue, a Johnny Cash tribute band, will be playing Red Rock on Nov. 23, and that his own band will be back on Thanksgivng Eve, Nov. 27. There will be no cover charge for any show, he said.Ray, who is now principal of Cougar King Entertainment, is on break from Las Vegas gigs until the New Year.”Over the next couple of months I’m focused on booking (entertainment) at Red Rock and at Timothy’s in Danvers,” Ray said, noting Timothy’s is located at the Village Green on Route 1.
