LYNN – A family of five is homeless after a fire on the exterior of their house forced them to evacuate Friday morning.The fire at about 10 a.m. at 43 Apple St. was quickly extinguished. One man who escaped was being treated as a precaution because he is asthmatic, fire officials said.Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy arrived on the scene and was consoling the occupants who, she said, will be staying with relatives.The Daily Item staff is working on this story and will have more details as they become available.
