LYNN – A judge ordered $20,000 cash bail for a city man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old relative several years ago.Zache J. Bervil, 36, of 40 Fiske Ave., Lynn, was arrested on a temporary warrant and charged with rape of a child with force; and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14; at 8:50 p.m. Saturday.Bervil was arraigned on the charges Monday in Lynn District Court, where a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.Police said a 12-year-old girl told officers late this summer that Bervil sexually assaulted her when she was 6 years old, according to a report by Lynn Police Officer Christine Petruzziello.Bervil allegedly kissed the girl on the lips in one incident. The alleged victim also told police she woke up when she was 6 years old and found Bervil molesting and raping her, according to police. The alleged victim said Bervil stopped when he realized the alleged victim was awake, according to police. Bervil allegedly told the girl that he woke her up to tell her a family member had gone to the hospital. The girl told officers she recently told her brother about the alleged assault and then told her mother, who took the alleged victim to the hospital, according to police.Police said the brother confirmed that the alleged victim had told him about the assault and described the same alleged incident, according to court documents.Judge Dominic Paratore ordered Bervil held on $20,000 cash bail, to stay away and have no contact with the alleged victim, and to forfeit his passport.Bervil is scheduled to return to court Dec. 10. An attorney appointed to represent Bervil could not be reached for comment Tuesday afternoon.
