SAUGUS – Phone lines to the Public Safety Building are disconnected due to a mechanical malfunction in the network, according to Saugus Police.
Lt. Ronald Giorgetti said 911 emergency line is still fully functional, but the police and fire business lines went down starting Friday afternoon. Giorgetti urged Saugus citizens to contact police and fire through the emergency 911 line.Giorgetti said the phones were being worked on by an outside company Friday evening and that they could not be repaired without the delivery of a mechanical part from out-of-state. He expected the part to arrive by Saturday morning and to have the phone repaired by Saturday afternoon.
