LYNN – Police are investigating a reported shooting on Fayette Street early Saturday morning that did not cause any injuries but damaged a motor vehicle.Police responded at 1:15 a.m. Saturday to the area of 161 Fayette St. on the report of several shots fired, according to Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown. Witnesses reported to officers that a tall, thin male wearing a hooded sweatshirt shot into the air and then fled on foot toward Chestnut Street, Brown said. He said officers searched the surrounding area but did not find the alleged suspect.Investigators collected ballistic evidence at the scene, however, according to Brown, and it appears a nearby vehicle was struck in the incident. Nobody was reported injured.Brown said no arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
