Roundup: Prep gets win over Fenwick

The St. John?s Prep boys basketball team defeated Bishop Fenwick 72-41 on Monday to improve to 4-0.The hosts got a game-high 14 points from Ben Judson as well as 13 points from Max Burt.Fenwick (3-4) trailed by eight at the end of the first period. Dom Luoni scored a team-high 11 points for the Crusaders, who were without Matt Costello, a key piece to the puzzle.Revere 75, Winchester 67 (OT)At Winchester, the Patriots grabbed an overtime victory behind stellar performances from Jason Seigal (30 points, 8 assists, 6 steals) and Michael Ciambelli (29 points, 10 rebounds). The visitors trailed 27-21 at halftime before rallying to force the extra session. Revere (2-4) got five points apiece from Michael Dreeszen and Dante Lauria.BOYS HOCKEYBedford 4, Swampscott 2At Bedford, the Big Blue (1-4-1) got 24 saves from Trent Gallagher. Trailing 2-0 after the first 15 minutes, Swampscott got a tally from Ryan Donnelly (assisted by Ryan Cresta) in the middle frame before Mike Johnson (from Louis Olivieri) tied things 1:03 into the final period. The Buccaneers retook the lead on Dan Wentzell?s second goal of the game before Ethan Miller (2 goals, 1 assist) sealed it.M?head 10, Nantucket 0At Salem State, the Magicians cruised to a victory, getting goals from 10 different players while goalie Marc Scribner (14 saves) posted a shutout.BOYS TRACKMarblehead 51, Danvers 35At Danvers, the Magicians (3-0) had several first place finishers, including Conrad Rousseau (8.4) in the hurdles and A.J. Ernst (4:37.2) in the mile. Marblehead also got victories from Adam Linsky (10:48.5) in the 2-mile, Ian McIver (1:35.1) in the 600m and Derek Dumais (42-9 3/4) in the shot put. The Falcons kept things close thanks to wins from Connor Rollins (5-10) in the high jump, John Thomas (6.7) in the 55m and Brandon Hyde (40.4) in the 300m. Danvers? other victory came in the 1000m from James Bailey, who ran an impressive 2:49.9.Gloucester 62, Winthrop 13At Gloucester, the Fishermen got two wins from Jared Marshall in the high jump (5-0) and hurdles (8.5). The hosts also got top performances from Matt Ciaramitaro (2:53.4) in the 1000m, Willy Pierce (11:01.8) in the 2-mile and Noah Hillier (43-9 1/2) in the shot put. Winthrop?s Devin Racow placed second (1:49.7) in the 600m while teammates Alex Kelly (31-8) and Brady Magrath (30-1 1/2) finished second and third respectively in the shot put.Revere 57, Classical 29At Revere, the Rams? only victory came from Chandler Laguerre in the 50-yard dash, where he ran a 6.1, just ahead of teammate Alex Pedro and Revere?s Daniel Murphy (6.3). Laguerre also placed second in the high jump (5-2), which was won by the Patriots? Tarik Maddrey (5-10), whose 7.3 also won the 50-yard hurdles. The hosts swept the 1000m and shot put and got a runaway victory in the mile from Frank Davidson (5:23.7). Revere?s John Dello Russo (11:10.2) won the 2-mile ahead of Classical?s Thomas Mackin (11:15.9).Austin 56, St. Mary?s 29At the Reggie Lewis Center, the Spartans got victories from Stephen Cronin in the 1000m (3:42) and Shane O?Neill in the hurdles (10.88). St. Mary?s got second place finishes from Josh Bertrand in the long jump (17) and 600m (1:39.38) as well as from Bryan Nerich in the shot put (31-8) and Liam Foley in the 2-mile (12:58.36). Cronin added a third in the long jump with a 13-11.Peabody 77, English 3At Peabody, the Tanners swept in the high jump, shot put, 45-yard dash, 600m, 1000m, mile and 2-mile. Peabody winners included Ryan Buckley in the hurdles (6.9) and Manny Vieira in the 2-mile (11:17.9). The Bulldogs got a second place finish from Kevin Francisco (43.4) in the 300m while teammate Thales Gloria placed third in the hurdles.GIRLS BASKETBALLPeabody 38, Medford 13At Peabody, the Tanners (4-1) got a game-high 13 points from Sara Hosman, who hit seven free throws, while teammate Carolyn Scacchi added eight points to go along with 13 rebounds.
