Lynn to hold second electronics recycling pickup

LYNN – Those who wish to benefit My Brother’s Table while recycling that old washing machine in accordance with the highest environmental standards have the opportunity at an Ethical Electronics Recycling Pickup Weekend beginning Saturday. The event is being held based on feedback from the December Ethical Electronics Recycling event at City Hall.”Lots of folks said they could have gotten their appliances outside, but no further,” said event organizer Christopher Swain in a press release. “Not everyone has access to a vehicle big enough to transport this stuff.”If you’ve got a large or awkward item that you would like to recycle, please contact Christopher as soon as possible at 617-233-4120, or [email protected]. He will schedule a pickup at a convenient time on Saturday or Sunday, collect your items and payment, and donate the net proceeds to My Brother’s Table.Items accepted for pickup this weekend include: TVs, CRTs, monitors, computers, servers, cables, peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc.), circuit boards, power supplies, memory, printers, fax machines, scanners, routers, cords, matrix switches, multiplexers, docking stations, modems, telephones, laptops, marine electronics, e-readers like Kindle and Nook, copiers, stereo equipment, stereo speakers, CD & DVD players, iPods, iPads, iPhones, tablets, MP3 players, remotes, VCRs, digital, slide and overhead projectors, still and video cameras, PDAs, radios and radio equipment, tape recorders, answering machines, typewriters, game systems, games, pagers, fans, vacuums, treadmills and exercise equipment, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, heaters, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, wine chillers, ice makers, vending machines, microwaves, toasters, blenders, power tools, ink cartridges, toner cartridges, USB media, CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes, 8-track tapes, reel-to-reel tapes, UPS back-ups/batteries, Zip disks, video tapes, DLT tapes, floppy diskettes and household batteries. Filing cabinets, desks, and office furniture will be accepted as well.Fees range from $5 for a small container of various electronic accessories such as disks to $30 for large appliances such as a washing machine, plus a pickup fee.Contact Christopher at 617-233-4120 or [email protected].
