The English boys basketball team remained unbeaten this season after a 90-68 victory over Revere Monday at Cavanagh Field House.Despite the absence of Stevie Collins (hand), a key-cog in the lineup who will be out an estimated 2-4 weeks, the Bulldogs (5-0) have been able to succeed with their remaining star-power and improving depth.?Stevie getting injured was a big loss for us as a team, but it has allowed some of our younger guys to show what they can do,” English coach Mike Carr said. “We base everything we do on tempo and it?s been nice doing some experimenting and seeing how and where they fit into our lineup.”Danny Lukanda was a monster for the Bulldogs, scoring a game-high 26 points to go along with 22 rebounds while the ever-consistent Eric Rosario added 18 points and 10 assists, both right on pace with his season averages.?Danny has been outstanding all year long and is only getting better,” said Carr of his senior co-captain. “Eric is the definition of consistency for us and really sets the temp for us at the point. They both played great tonight.”Carr lauded the efforts of freshman Tommy Rijo (10 points) and sophomore Veneticus Phillip (4 points) for not just their work against Revere, but their improvement throughout the season. “They have both worked exceptionally hard to prove that they belong with the varsity team,” said Carr of the two underclassmen.The Patriots (2-5) got a team-high 19 points from Mike Ciambelli as well as 11 points from Ravi Ryland. Revere will host Marblehead on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Swampscott.S?scott 57, Winthrop 45At Swampscott, the Big Blue picked up their first conference win of the season behind a double-double from Andre Reeves, who scored a game-high 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds. John King (13 points, 6 rebounds) and Chad Nelson (12 points, 14 rebounds) were big for Swampscott (2-5) as well while Ben Faulkner chipped in with eight points, six rebound and four assists off the bench. The Vikings got a team-high 14 points from Cody Wasson while Robbie Fisher and Jake Chiudina added eight points apiece.St. Mary?s 66, Cathedral 41At Cathedral, the Spartans improved to 4-2 on the season behind a game-high 20 points from Anthony Silfa. St. Mary?s also got 13 points from Curtis Lockett in the win and will play again on Friday at Bishop Fenwick.Beverly 88, Peabody 52At Beverly, the Panthers cruised to victory behind 27 points from Nick Cross as well as 15 points from Jon Berchoff. The Panthers (3-2) also got double-digit points from Chris Sinclair (14) and Kyle Coughlin (13). Brian Onessimo and Matt Correale had nine points each for Peabody.Ham-Wen 67, Saugus 50At Wenham, the Sachems got 10 points and 10 rebounds from Joe Bertrand in a loss to their new conference foes. Kyle Autilio chipped in with nine points for Saugus (3-5) while Jack Furey added five points. The Sachems will host Masconomet on Wednesday night.Danvers 58, Marblehead 42At Marblehead, the Magicians (3-3, 1-2)came up short against the Falcons despite big games from Matt Millett (14 points) and Will Millett (10 points). Danvers had three players in double figures.
