The English High swim team topped Swampscott, 101-81, Tuesday at Lynn Tech.The Bulldogs (1:01) dominated the relays with Jesse Freeman, Marina Broufas, Matt Bruno and Mike Bruno combining to win the 200 medley (2:07.53). In the 200 free relay, it was Matt Demirs, Frances Serwicki, Broufas and Matt Bruno posting a winning time of 1:55.94 and in the 400 free, it was Serwicki, Freeman, Danielle Carney and Mike Bruno winning (4:18.08).Mike Bruno also won the 200 individual medley (2:21.13) and the 100 free (58.23) and Matt Bruno won the 50 free (25.94) and the 100 free (58.83). Earlier in the day Nelson, who is a team captain, was one of 33 Department of Conservation and Recreation lifeguards honored at the State House for their quick thinking response in an emergency situation. Another former Classical High swimmer, Daveth Cheth (Class of 2009), was also honored at the event. Cheth is now a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.GIRLS TRACKSwampscott 46, G?ster 40At Gloucester, the Big Blue (2-0) pulled out a win in the relay and had wins from Mackenzie Faulkner, 55 meters (7.9); Sarah Kelley, 1,000 (3:15.6); Isabella Kornitsky, mile (5:51.9) and Aisling Dennehy, 300 (47.7). Gloucester had wins from Sierra Rudolph, high jump (4-6); Hannah Pastagal, shot put (25-7 1/2); Chloe Kenyon, 55 meter hurdles and Kacie Quinn, 2-mile (12:23).BOYS TRACKG?ster 59, Swampscott 27At Gloucester, the Fishermen ran some very tactically sound races and pushed the Big Blue to a lot of personal bests, according to Swampscott coach Jeff Bartlett.Swampscott had a win from Matt Mahoney in the 2-mile (10:05). Zach Levenson had a seven-foot PR to qualify for the state meet in the shot put; Noah Conti ran a 1:26.8 in the 600, which was his best on a flat track, and freshmen Jack Dennehy and Harry Parker had personal records in the distance events.
