SWAMPSCOTT – A Lynn man – with a camera crew in tow – turned himself in to Swampscott Police Thursday afternoon in connection with several thefts of copper downspouts throughout town.
“[The defendant gave Channel 5 an interview and then came into the station where he was immediately identified by Det. Ted Delano as being one of the parties” caught on surveillance footage, Swampscott Police Sgt. Tim Cassidy wrote in an email Thursday.Stephen Marshall, 35, of 51 Coburn St., Lynn, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250, six counts; and malicious destruction of property, six counts; for six thefts reported in Swampscott during the past week.
