LYNN – A Mattapan man was sentenced to two years behind bars after a jury found him guilty of acting as a pimp.An Essex County jury found Jonathan E. Brown, 23, of 72 Woodbowl Ave., Mattapan, guilty of deriving support from prostitution; in a one-day trial last Monday in Lynn District Court.Saugus Police arrested Brown June 21, 2012, as part of Operation Crossroads, a collaboration among local, state and federal investigators targeting prostitution, particularly child prostitution. (This case did not involve a child acting as a prostitute, court documents note.)The arrest came in a sting at a Route 1 hotel where an undercover investigator passed marked money through a contact working as a prostitute, according to court documents. Police later arrested Brown with the money. Police said the incidents were also captured on videotape, leading to the jury returning after only a few minutes with a verdict.Judge Albert Conlon sentenced Brown to the mandatory minimum sentence of two years to be served in a house of corrections.
