Roundup: Jets face turbulence vs. Newton South

The Lynn Jets took an early lead but it didn?t last long in a 4-3 loss to Newton South Wednesday at John Ryan Skating Rink.?We just didn?t play with the necessary energy to win a game,” Lynn coach Joe Conlon said.Corey Wojewodzic scored with 10 seconds remaining in the first period to give Lynn a 1-0 lead, but Newton South?s Sean Hart, who would finish with a hat trick, tied things up 5:39 into the second period. Lynn took the lead back on a Tony Uva goal midway through the middle period, but Newton South scored two goals in the final three minutes of the period to take the lead for good.Hart scored his third of the night 7:46 into the third period to put Newton South up 4-2. Lynn?s Ryan MacDonald cut the lead to one a few minutes later, but that?s as close as Lynn would get.
