The KIPP boys and girls basketball teams took to their home court on Saturday afternoon, playing in honor of classmate Rayquan Fregeau, 18, who died last Monday after a lengthy and courageous fight with cancer. Kennedy 49-42 while the boys fell 77-41, also against EMK.?I can?t truly speak for anybody else, but I feel as if both teams are handling the loss very well,” explained girls coach Nat Jones. “I am extremely proud of the maturity everyone has shown during such a difficult situation. Rayquan certainly made it easier for everybody with his fantastic attitude throughout the ordeal.”Pleilerkay Gaye scored a team-high 18 points for KIPP, including 12 in the second half.
