The Lynn Jets got the job done once again, defeating Revere, 5-1, Wednesday at Cronin Rink in Revere.The Jets took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Alex Amico 1:26 into the game, but it was the second period that did in the Patriots. Lynn rattled off three unanswered goals to take a 4-0 lead.Tony Uva, who had assisted on Amico?s goal, scored eight minutes into the period from Eric Brazell. Mark Brazell made it 3-0 just under six minutes later and Corey Wojewodzic scored his first of two (Ryan MacDonald and Mark Brazell assisting) with 30 seconds left in the period. Wojewodzic made it 5-0 on a goal 19 minutes into the third. Brandon Mastropietro scored for Revere to spoil Jack Stafford?s shutout bid. The win lifts the Jets to 11-3.?We stayed focused all the way through,” Lynn coach Joe Conlon said. “From top to bottom it was a good effort. Revere is just a very good team in their rink.”Beverly 4, Marblehead 3At Rockett Arena, the Panthers battled back from a 2-0 deficit and again from a 3-2 deficit to defeat the Magicians for the third time this season. Ryan Santo scored the winning goal for Beverly (14-0-1) with about three minutes remaining. Graham Doherty had two goals and Jesse McLaughlin, one, in the win.Erik Powers and Tom Koopman, who each had a goal, played well for Marblehead.Triton 5, Lynnfield 3At Triton, the Pioneers (1-8-3) led 1-0 after one on a goal by freshman Johnny Percoski and 2-0 in the second on Dan Sullivan?s tally, but a four-minute penalty turned the tables. Triton scored twice on the power play and again on another penalty to take a 3-2 lead. The Pioneers fought back to tie it on a goal by Cam Rondeau with 2:38 left in the second period, but Triton added two in the third.North Reading 9, Saugus 0At Burbank Arena, North Reading scored two in the first period and blew the game open with four in the second.Salem 5, Swampscott 3At Salem State, the Big Blue (3-12-1) trailed 2-1 at the end of the first period. Salem outscored Swampscott 3-1 in the second period. Leading the way for Swampscott was Ryan Donnelly (goal, assist). Swampscott freshman goalie Zach Turner came into the net for the first time all season in the third period and recorded six saves.Peabody 2, Danvers 2At Peabody, the Tanners (4-9-2) were down 1-0 going into the final period. Peabody scored two goals in the first six minutes of the third period to take its first lead of the game, 2-1, but it only lasted 40 seconds. Danvers cashed in on a power play to salvage the tie.Leading Peabody were forwards Chris Gillen (goal) and Bobby Coprano (assist). Danvers goalie Alex Taylor had a strong game (28 saves).Winthrop 3, Gloucester 1At Gloucester, the Vikings (11-4) scored the first three goals. Leading the way for Winthrop was goalie Ray Neely (26 saves). Chris Page had a goal and an assist for the Vikings.Fenwick 6, St. Bernard?s 3At Fenwick, the Crusaders jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period and never let up.GIRLS HOCKEYWinthrop/Lynn 1, Beverly 0At Talbot Rink, it was a clash of the Titans in Gloucester and the combined Winthrop/Lynn/Saugus team eked out the win thanks to a goal by Caroline McKinnon. Goalie Gretchen Howard was outstanding with 32 saves. The Bulldogs are 12-2.
