Two local wrestling teams won their respective league titles Wednesday.Lynnfield/North Reading defeated Georgetown/Ipswich, 57-9, and St. John?s Prep topped Malden Catholic to earn bragging rights.At Lynnfield, the combined team won its second consecutive Cape Ann League championship with a 5-0 record (22-0 overall).The Pioneers had wins from Joe Morse (106 pounds); Kai Jean-Simon (113); Scott McGrath (120); Eric Kerr (126); Lucas Pascucci (132); Dominic Monzione (145); Zack Monzione (152); Joe Wise (160); Brandon Troisi (195); and Mike Farrelly (285). This was the Spartans? final league meet, but they?ll be at it again Saturday at the Catholic Central League meet, which will be at Lynn Tech this year.The meet is usually held at Northeastern University, but pool and scheduling issues were a problem this year. St. Mary?s worked out an arrangement with the city to host the meet at Tech so on Saturday, eight CCL teams, including St. Mary?s and Bishop Fenwick, will be competing.Peabody 91, Revere 80At the Garfield School in Revere on Tuesday the Tanners took home six top finishes led by double winners Maria Strakosha, in the 200 individual medley (2:29.35) and the 100 breaststroke (1:17.76), and Alex Strakosha, in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke (1:04.59).Paige Hayward won diving (192.30 points) and qualified for the states; Christine Shea won the 200 free and took second in the 100 free; Nina Pappacostas won the 500 free and Alex Strakosha, Kristi Theodhori, Spencer Barnes and Conor McCarthy won the 200 free relay (2:02.19).
