Roundup: Classical boys hoop struggles in loss to Everett

The Classical boys basketball team had a rough night in an 83-66 loss to Everett Monday at Classical.The Rams trailed the Crimson Tide 22-10 after one quarter. By the half, the gap had widened to 46-25.?They kind of had their way with us on the boards,” Classical coach Tom Grassa said. “They kind of really outplayed us in every aspect.”The Rams (10-7) had three players, Jordan Brown, Eddie Solis and Phillip Rogers, with 12 points. Eli McConney had 10.The Rams were without Kyle Doucette, who injured his ankle last week. When the teams met earlier this season, Everett won by five.GIRLS BASKETBALLSt. Mary?s 56, Fenwick 46At Peabody, the Crusaders (8-7) gave the Spartans a much tougher time the second time around, trimming the lead to six in the fourth quarter thanks in part to a couple of threes by Gianna Pizzano (14 points), but in the end the Spartans were too tough to stop.?We played well all throughout, but they were really tough to cover. They have the best guards around.
