The Bishop Fenwick boys and girls track teams came away with the Catholic Central League championship on Thursday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center, accumulating 165 points to outpace rivals Cardinal Spellman and Arlington CatholicIn girls action, the Crusaders had three individuals earn league championships, including Sydney Packard in the 600m (1:43.31) and Ariana Maida in the 1000m (3:11.10), both of whom were part of the Crusaders? 4×4 relay team, along with Mary Pasquale and Jackie Edgett, which took first with a 4:23.69.Sabrina Silvagni took home top honors in the high jump with a best of 14-9.In boys action, Charlie Maistrellis captured the league championship in the 300m, running a 36.57 while anchoring the 4×4 relay team to victory. Maistrellis, along with Eric Loehle, Patrick Walsh and Mitch Rivers, combined to run a 3:17.38. Fenwick?s Eric Razney was also crowned an individual champion in the long jump with a best leap of 19-10. The Crusaders finished the regular season 6-1, tied for first place in the conference with Spellman and Arlington Catholic, and will send 15 competitors to States on Wednesday in Roxbury.CATHOLIC CENTRAL LEAGUEAt the Reggie Lewis Center, the Spartans finished with 41 points in the Catholic Central League meet. The boys 4 x 400 relay took sixth (top six in each event placed) with the team of Stephen Cronin, Nick Cohan, Nhan Danh-huynh and Shane O?Neill (4:32). For the girls, ZuZu Haefner won the high jump (5-2) and placed fourth in the long jump (14-2) and sixth in the 55 hurdles (10:49). Toni Vinciarelli took second in the 55 (7.81); and fourth in the 300 (44.99). Tia Foglietta finished third in the 2-mile (12:09.43). Paige Fielding took third in the high jump (4-8) and Rachel Hanlon took sixth in the long jump (13-7.5).The coed 4 x 800 relay took fourth with Toni Mwangi, Brennan Pramberg, Sam Saunders and Foglietta (11:45).BOYS TRACKTRI-COUNTY LEAGUEAt the Reggie Lewis Center, St. John?s Prep (73 points) took second place in its league meet behind BC High (102 points). Evan Dombrowski was named Outstanding Performer of the meet for the second year in a row after recording a throw of 54 feet in the shot put. Joe Luongo won the 600 (1:21.78) and Tom Loehner, the 2-mile (9:41.82). Matt Flynn won the 55 high hurdles (8.88) and the high jump (5-6) in the freshman/sophomore meet.Beverly 44, Danvers 42At Danvers, the Panthers (6-0) won the relay (3:50) to pull out a thriller against the Falcons. Nick Zelano won the shot put (39-4 1/2); Brian McPherson, the 1,000 (2:50.9); Campbell Wood, 2-mile (10:59); Jordan Rawding, 300 (39.5) and Bryan Flaherty, 600 (1:31.5).Danvers had wins from Connor Rollins, high jump (5-10); Zach Perrson, 55-meter hurdles (8.3); John Thomas, 55 meters (6.7); and James Bailey, mile (4:45.5).Marblehead 61, Revere 25At Revere, the Magicians (6-1) won their final dual meet of the season, getting first place finishes from a cast of runners including Hillman Hollister, who blazed to victory in the mile with a 5:05.2.
