School Roundup: Lynnfield wrestlers wrap up another strong season

The Lynnfield wrestling team completed another successful season of dual meets Tuesday night with another dominating performance.The Pioneers traveled all the way to Boston to allow Josiah Quincy High School only three points in a 54-3 victory that made their record 25-1 for the season.Winners were: Joe Reardon, 106; Joe Morse, 113; Scott McGrath, 120; Eric Kerr, 126; Max Whyman, 132; Garrett Anderson, 138; Dominic Monzione, 145; Zach Monzione, 152; Zack Blacker, 160; Paul Soukas, 220; Tom Arsenault, 285.Lynnfield will participate in the Division 3 North sectional at Danvers Saturday.BOYS BASKETBALLSalem 58, Peabody 47At Peabody, the Witches kept their hold on the top spot in the Northeastern Conference Tuesday night, and they needed the win, too, as Lynn Classical — complete with its 91-84 win over English — has injected itself into the conversation.Salem raised its record to 14-4 thanks to 20 points from Jamie Dominguez and 18 from Jamie Kazadi. Rashad Keys chipped in with 11.Jared McCarron led Peabody with 21 points while Matt Correale had 14.Shawsheen 55, Tech 41At Shawsheen, Odell Tiggs led the Tigers with 17 points while Michael Anaya had 11. The Tigers fell to 2-11, and will play this weekend in the Salem High tournament, beginning Sunday with a game against the Witches.Marblehead 58, Winthrop 31At Marblehead, the Magicians raised their record to 9-8, thanks to Will Millett?s 11 points, eight by Peter Tully and seven by Elliot Gregory.Beverly 70, Revere 68At Revere, the Patriots (7-11) gave the Panthers all they could handle, as Jon Berchoff led all scorers with 20 points, Nick Cross had 16 and Jonangel Franco 15.For the Patriots, Mike Ciambelli, Jason Seigal and Tommy Chea each had 15.Danvers 66, Gloucester 58At Gloucester, the Falcons (15-2) got 24 points from Devan Harris, along with 12 rebounds; 14 from Rashad Francois; and 13 from Mark McCarthy.Devon Allen had six rebounds and four assists.BOYS HOCKEYTriton 4, Saugus 3At Kasabuski Rink, Saugus fell behind 4-2 after Triton scored twice in the third period, but Mike Saracchiaro scored with 13 seconds to go for the final score.Chris Sanderson and Brendon Ronan scored for Saugus as well. Saugus is 5-11.
