SAUGUS – Eustis Street resident Bobby Camuso said there are “unwanted” people doing “undesirable” things in the dark close to his home.Camuso?s home is near the land parcels adjacent to the Weylu property, which was sold in August. Camuso appeared before the Board of Selectmen following the purchase to report that people had been dumping trash at the site, and he was concerned about what trucking during development would do to his neighborhood. On Tuesday, Camuso asked the board if the town could post “no trespassing” signs at the property to keep people off his street who were “obviously up to no good.” Camuso said he was confident there were drug deals going on at the property, and he often saw trucks going down the street with the lights off. “I call the police and they can?t get there soon enough,” said Camuso.Town Manager Scott Crabtree said he would relay Camuso?s observations to Saugus Police Chief Domenic DiMella so he could have his officers monitor the area more closely. “If the police can get down there, and at least make contact, they can take information,” said Crabtree.Camuso admitted he had seen police “down there a lot” patrolling the area.Chairman Ellen Faiella said Camuso?s complaint was “not being ignored” by the town, but because there was no written language on whether Eustis Street is an actual dead-end street, putting up a sign to deter “undesirables” is no easy feat. Crabtree said it was “difficult until we figure out what the developers are doing” at the property.Crabtree said he would talk to DiMella about “increasing patrols.”
