The Marblehead High boys basketball team saw its tournament run come to an end with a 67-49 loss to Danvers Wednesday in a Division 2 North first round game at Danvers High.The Falcons led by six at the half. Marblehead cut the lead to four in the third quarter, but Danvers answered with a couple of threes that allowed the Falcons to pull away for good.?The big turning point was in the third quarter. We had cut it to four, we had a turnover and they hit a three. We missed a layup, they hit a three,” Marblehead coach Mike Giardi said. “It was right back up to 10.”Rashad Francois hurt the Magicians. He had six threes and finished with 22 points. Matt Millett had 15 points for Marblehead and Cian Saunders, 10.Despite the loss, Giardi said he was proud of the way his players kept attacking the basket.?They just didn?t fall for us,” he said.Danvers is the No. 2 seed and Marblehead was the 15th. The Magicians finish 12-10.
