LYNN – Police said a teenager and his father chased off a Chelsea man who stabbed the teen while trying to get into the family’s Essex Street home Thursday.The pair then caught up with the fleeing suspect and subdued him as police arrived and made the arrest.Samson Beauregard, 40, of Chelsea, was arrested and charged with armed home invasion; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a knife; and possession with intent to distribute Class D marijuana at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday, according to Lynn Police.He was to be arraigned in Lynn District Court this morning.Police responded to the area of Essex and Rockaway streets on the report of a possible stabbing at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday. Officers arrived to find the alleged victim – a 19-year-old man – and his father struggling with the suspect, according to Lynn Police Capt. Michael Mageary. Police apprehended the suspect immediately.Police said Beauregard had come into the home while armed with a knife. Mageary said the teen confronted the suspect and was stabbed. The father came downstairs to help his son and the suspect allegedly fled, according to police.The teen had a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a local hospital, according to Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown. Brown said the father suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.The family declined to comment about the incident at the home Thursday afternoon. It was unclear whether the suspect knew the alleged victims.
