Camp Fire North Shore joins Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce

LYNN – The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee recently welcomed Camp Fire USA, North Shore Council to the organization.Camp Fire USA has been serving the North Shore since 1915. Camp Fire chose to become coeducational in 1975. Camp Fire North Shore has been located on the Lynn/Salem line for over 40 years. “The agency is a reliable source of education, advocacy and support and meeting the evolving needs of boys and girls and their families,” said new executive director Laurie Hamill. “Our curriculum and methods have evolved to meet the ever changing social environment while keeping our core principals and mission intact. This stability sets us apart from all of the other youth serving agencies on the North Shore.”Camp Fire USA is a co-ed organization serving over 300 children from Lynn, Salem, Peabody, Swampscott and Nahant year-round and accommodates up to 200 campers each year. The ratio of boys and girls is 50/50.The organization also gives over 50 high school and college students summer employment and they are always looking for volunteers.”Joining the LACC will give us access and allow us to network with other local businesses and non profits in the area,” said Hamill.For more information about Camp Fire USA, North Shore Council programming please call 978-745-7200 and follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/CampFireNorthShore.
