LYNNFIELD – The Lynn Jets hockey team celebrated a successful season Monday night with a banquet at Spinelli?s.The Jets finished the season 13-7-1, losing to Wayland in the Division 3 North quarterfinals. Although the post-season ended sooner than they would have liked, the Jets were still took home the Northeastern Conference South title.Rather than give out individual awards, coach Joe Conlon and his staff opted to focus on honoring the graduating seniors, who included captains Tony Uva, Brett Erelli, Pat Finnigan and Ryan MacDonald. Also wrapping up their high school hockey careers were Eric Brazell, Dan Rustani, Alex Amico and Anthony Baio (senior Ryan Magrane and Daniel Sullivan were unable to attend).Uva did receive a special award as the Boston Bruins/MIAA Sportsmanship award winner. Uva and other Sportsmanship Award winners from the various hockey leagues in the state will be guests of the Boston Bruins Monday night, where they?ll be recognized.?It was a just a fun year,” Conlon said, adding that players steered clear of trouble in and out of the classroom.Conlon said the team realized its goal of winning the conference and along the way, played very well, especially against NEC opponents as well as some other good teams outside the conference.?This was just a great class,” Conlon said of his departing players. “I wish we could have this type of class every year.”
