Plenty going on this weekend at the local bars, most of which are having some kind of St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
For those less inclined toward that kind of party, Northshore Mall in Peabody is hosting its free annual Book Blast today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and parents and children to bring books to life through special read-aloud sessions, giveaways and story-inspired activities.
Children are also invited to bring a new or gently-used book to the event to be donated to homeless families temporarily housed at local motels.Jane Sutton, author of “The Trouble with Cauliflower,” will also be doing activities and games related to her book as she reads.
