LYNN – A judge ordered $20,000 cash bail for a Chelsea man charged with forcing his way into a city home and stabbing a resident during an alleged drug deal.”As we were placing (the defendant) in the back of the cruiser he yelled out ?I was there to buy weed,'” Lynn Police Officer David Harney wrote in a report.Samson A. Beauregard, 40, of 2 Parkway Court #6, Chelsea, was arrested and charged with home invasion; and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; at 3:20 p.m. Feb. 27.At his arraignment the following day, Judge Stacey Fortes ordered Beauregard held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.Police responded to the area of 15 Rockaway St. on Feb. 27 on the report of a fight and a stabbing victim, according to police.The alleged victim told police Beauregard knocked at the door of the home and then forced his way inside, demanding marijuana. The alleged victim told police Beauregard slashed him on the right cheek and stabbed him in the chest after the alleged victim said he had nothing to give.The alleged victim’s father heard the fight and came running down the stairs and the two chased Beauregard out of the house then wrestled him to the ground near 15 Rockaway St. Police arrived on scene and arrested Beauregard. The victim told police he suspected Beauregard knew that he sold marijuana.Assistant District Attorney John Brennan withdrew the request for a dangerousness hearing Tuesday in Lynn District Court and argued bail. Brennan also requested the judge revoke Beauregard’s bail in an open case in Chelsea where Beauregard is alleged to have violated an abuse-prevention order.Judge James LaMothe denied the motion to hold Beauregard on the Chelsea case and ordered $20,000 cash bail for the new charges in Lynn. LaMothe noted that Beauregard had served prior time for assaultive offenses and for escaping from custody.Beauregard is scheduled to return to court April 15.
