SWAMPSCOTT – Police have issued summonses to 58 teens allegedly drinking at a house party on Windsor Avenue Saturday night. The father of the alleged host of the party is also being summonsed under the social host policy, police said.
Police responded to 46 Windsor Ave. at 9:50 p.m. Saturday on the report of a disturbance and kids banging on doors, according to Swampscott Police Det. Ted Delano. Police observed a house party and identified 58 people to be summonsed as minors in possession of alcohol, Delano reported. He said the majority of those to be summonsed into court are juveniles.
Delano said a father of a resident of the home will also be summonsed into court under the state social host liability.
That law states that a person who “knowingly or intentionally” gives or or allows a minor to have alcohol on the premises can be fined and /or spend a year in custody.
