LYNN — Local developer and business community leader David Solimine, Jr. said he hopes to leave Massachusetts General Hospital in a week and start a long recovery following a backyard accident last Saturday that left him with broken bones in his neck, back and left ankle.
Solimine, 55, immediate past chairman of the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce, jokingly quoted Mark Twain from his hospital bed Monday and described how he managed to call his son, Joel, for help after a 25-foot-tall tree he was cutting down fell on him.
?It just kind of kicked the wrong way. I very much appreciate everybody?s concern,” he said.
MGH spokeswoman Kory Zhao listed Solimine in good condition.
