LYNN – A Saugus man was held on $15,000 cash bail after local police reported arranging multiple heroin deals with the defendant.Brian Murray, 33, of 14 Oak Hill Road, Saugus, was arrested on a warrant and charged with two counts of distribution of Class A drugs, subsequent offense; and distribution of Class B drugs, subsequent offense; on April 1.A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf at his arraignment in Lynn District Court last Wednesday.Saugus Police targeted Murray after two confidential sources this fall told officers they had been buying heroin from the defendant, according to a report by Saugus Police Lt. Detective David Gecoya.Police said each confidential source told officers he or she would call Murray at a specific number and then would meet the defendant either at the Oak Hill Road address or at another specific location to buy drugs.Police set up one of the informants to do two controlled drug buys in the first week of October, with the informant buying $70 of heroin while under surveillance by police, according to court documents.Police also allegedly witnessed a third individual buy Suboxone from Murray. That individual alleged she had been buying heroin and Suboxone from Murray for the past five or six years.Murray was scheduled to appear in court March 20 to be arraigned on the charges but defaulted, according to court documents.Lynn District Court Judge James Wexler cited this and “a history of defaults” on “a very long record” among reasons for ordering Murray held on $15,000 cash bail.Murray is scheduled to return to court May 1.
