LYNN – A teenage boy has been charged with delinquency by reason of assault to murder after police said the juvenile shot another teenager in the face Wednesday afternoon.Lynn Police, Lynn Fire and Atlantic Ambulance responded at approximately 5:15 p.m. Wednesday to the area of 26 Neptune Street Court on a report of a person down, according to an email from Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown.Officers arrived to find an 18-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound to the face, police said. The alleged victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for potentially life-threatening injuries and was listed in stable condition as of Wednesday evening, Brown said.Officers had established a crime scene on the railroad tracks behind Neptune Street Court, just north of the Bennett Street “can opener” bridge and beyond the dead end at South Street Place.Police went to an unspecified location on Neptune Boulevard in the subsequent investigation in search of one or more suspects, Brown reported. A 17-year-old juvenile male was taken into custody without further incident and he has been charged with delinquency by reason of assault to murder.Brown said the investigation remains ongoing.The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Lynn Juvenile Court.
