LYNN – A city woman was ordered to not drink and not to drive after getting into an accident on the Lynnway while allegedly driving drunk with her four children in the car.Marcie Steeves, 34, of 17 Oneida St., was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor; and child endangerment while operating under the influence of liquor; at 9:40 p.m. Saturday. She appeared in Lynn District Court Tuesday where a plea of not guilty was entered on her behalf, according to court records.Lynn and State Police responded to the Lynnway, just prior to the Nahant Rotary, on the report of a motor vehicle crash at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a report by Trooper Brad Sullivan. The trooper reported Lynn Police at the scene said nobody was injured in the incident but “something was up with the driver of the Honda,” who was later identified as Steeves.Steeves allegedly told police she was returning from Cambridge with her four children – three 6-year-olds and a 2-year-old – and had a single glass of white wine at around 8 p.m.The trooper said Steeves could not successfully complete several field-sobriety tests, had glassy and bloodshot eyes, was swaying and had a “moderate” odor of alcohol on her breath.Police also reported finding an open bottle of Riesling wine on the floor of the car by the gas pedal. Police said the bottle was approximately one third empty. Steeves blew a .21, nearly three times the legal limit, on a Breathalyzer test, according to court documents.Judge Cathleen Campbell ordered Steeves released on condition that she not drink and be subject to random alcohol screens, not drive without a valid license and comply with the Department of Children and Families, which was informed of the incident.Steeves is scheduled to return to court June 6. An attorney representing Steeves could not be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.
