The Swampscott boys lacrosse team took control of the game early in a 14-2 win over Lynn Thursday at Manning Field.The Big Blue (3-1) sprinted to a 7-1 lead at the half. Leading the way for Swampscott was the trio of Devin Conroy (3 goals, 4 assists), Andrew Dove (3 goals) and Jason Dignan (3 goals).?We had a complete team effort in this one, and that resulted in a very well played game,” Swampscott coach Todd Pierce said. “Lynn put up a strong fight, and played hard all the way to the last whistle.”For Lynn (2-3), Corey Wojewodzic and Adam Bryson scored one goal each. Jake Stafford had a strong performance in the midfield, and handling face-offs.Fenwick 13, Ipswich 12At Fenwick, the Crusaders (3-3) were down by three at the end of the first half. The score was tied 12-12 late in the game, and Fenwick?s Kyle Russell scored the game-winner with just over a minute left. Russell (5 goals, 3 assists) and Mark Nalesnik (5 goals) scored 10 goals combined for the Crusaders. Nick Finan had a strong performance in goal for Fenwick (18 saves).Xaverian 11, St. John?s 10At St. John?s, the Eagles (1-2) were tied 10-10 at the end of the fourth quarter, and went into overtime. Xaverian scored in the first 30 seconds of the extra frame. Leading the way for St. John?s was Drew O?Connell (4 goals, 2 assists). Shawn Waldron chipped in two goals and an assist for the Eagles. Nick DiCara made nine saves for St. John?s.Beverly 15, Gloucester 3At Gloucester, the Panthers outscored the Fishermen 11-0 before Gloucester could score its first goal. Nick Albano scored four goals and added four assists to lead the Panthers. Beverly junior Clinton Cabral recorded a hat trick.
