LYNN – A Robinson Street resident fell 15 feet from a ladder while painting his home Tuesday and was taken by emergency medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, fire officials said.District Fire Chief Robert Bourgeois said Engine 9 firefighters responding to 46 Robinson St. at 12:44 p.m. found a man lying on the sidewalk in front of the single-family home. Bourgeois did not provide the man’s identity but neighbor Peter Flessas identified the resident as Edward Demase – the older of two men with that name living at 46 Robinson St.Flessas ran across Robinson to help his neighbor after hearing “a big noise.” He pulled a step ladder off Demase and said the man’s son was attempting to help the man. He said 46 Robinson’s owner appeared to have been painting second-floor windows overlooking the street when the accident occurred.Bourgeois said the ladder appeared to have been set up on a small roof above the home’s front door. He said the man was taken by an Atlantic Ambulance crew to Frye Park where emergency workers met the medical helicopter.An MGH spokesman did not have updated information on the resident’s condition.Robinson Street resident John Hollow heard the ladder fall off 46 Robinson and ran to help his neighbor of 20 years.”He was laying on the sidewalk, breathing but unresponsive. His son was trying to revive him,” Hollow said.
