BEVERLY – The Cape Ann Big Band is set to fill the Larcom Theatre with the sound of jazz, swing, soul and rock, in a 7:30 p.m. Saturday performance.This diverse 17-piece big band will perform classics including “Mack the Knife,” “In the Mood,” “Minnie the Moocher,” “I’ve Got You Under my Skin” and “Take the A Train.”For this unique spring concert at the fully restored, historic Larcom Theatre, Cape Ann Big Band features special guest vocalists Renee Dupuis, John Rockwell, Carolyn Seavey and Nathan Seavey.Formed in December 2010, director Carlos Menezes Jr. teamed up with friends and fellow musicians Paula Burns, Shawn Lowe, Mike Lentini and Rick Geraghty to discuss the potential of starting up a 17-piece big band. Menezes found the roster full in just a week’s time.Members include, on saxophones, Mike Lentini, Nick Capello, Ed Biggs, Steve Silva and Carlos Menezes Jr.; trumpets, Shawn Lowe, Arthur Adamson and Rick Naso; trombones, Paula Burns, Tom Madore, Dana Cohen and Tim Klopotoski; drums, Rick Geraghty; piano, Chris Bodek; bass, Gary Wolsieffer; and guitar, Christian Towler.
