LYNN – The sunny skies and warm weather were ruined for several Lynn residents when a fire broke out on the third floor of 900 Western Ave.
According to fire investigator Lt. Joe Fannon, an accidental mattress fire started on the third floor of the 3-family home. Reports on Twitter indicated that someone was actually hanging from the third floor of the residence.
“A third-floor resident was trapped on the porch,” Fannon said. “He was rescued by Ladder 2.” Fannon said Ladder 2 and Engine 3 were first on scene.Fannon said two adult residents from the third floor, two adults and two children from the second floor and two adults and two children from the first floor were evacuated from the home. He classified it as a working fire, and fire trucks had left the site by 11:40 a.m.
