The Swampscott boys lacrosse team clinched the Northeastern Conference South title Thursday with a hard-fought 7-6 win at Salem State.The Big Blue (10-2, 7-0) took a penalty with under two minutes left in the game and Salem took advantage and scored, tying the game at 6-6. Swampscott?s Andrew Dove notched the game-winner with 1:30 left, but there were a couple of scary moments down the stretch when Swampscott took yet another penalty. Salem got off a great shot with eight seconds left, but goalie Max Cohen preserved the tie with a huge save.?Our entire defensive unit is extremely strong.
