The Swampscott High softball team bounced back from a tough loss to Danvers with a 6-3 win over Marblehead Thursday at Marblehead.Senior pitcher Danielle Mayblyum was in control the whole way, scattering five hits and striking out five.?She probably pitched her best game of the year,” Swampscott coach Frank Kowalski said.The Big Blue put three on the board in the third inning. She had a perfect game going until the seventh inning with two outs and two strikes on Molly Doyle. Doyle spoiled the party with a double and then Tatiana Doucette ended the shutout with an RBI single, scoring Doyle.Michaela Hamill went the first four innings for St. Mary?s, allowing four hits, three runs, three earned. She also struck out three and walked three. Mia Nowicki allowed one run in three innings, striking out two and walking one. She also had a run score on an illegal pitch.Winthrop 5, Classical 1At Winthrop, the Rams were tied 0-0 until the bottom of the sixth inning. The Vikings (9-5) sent nine batters to the plate in the sixth, and scored five runs. Jen Adamson gave Winthrop the lead with an RBI triple, and scored the winning run on a Maura Lanza RBI single. Lanza kept the Classical bats quiet in the seventh to preserve the win (7 innings, 6 hits, 5 strikeouts, 2 walks, 1 run, 0 earned).
