LYNN – A Swampscott woman was held without bail after agreeing to being found a danger following an alleged drunken attack on her sister.”(The defendant) lunged toward her sister in an attempt to physically attack (her),” Swampscott Police Officer Michael Frayler wrote in a report. “Sgt. (William) Waters and I then took (the defendant) to the ground in an attempt to place her under arrest.”Christine Curley, 33, of 9 Brooks Terrace, Swampscott, was arrested and charged with assault and battery; resisting arrest; disorderly conduct; and four outstanding warrants; at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday.She was arraigned on the charges Wednesday in Lynn District Court where a plea of not guilty was entered on her behalf.Police responded to the Brooks Terrace home on a report that Curley was out of control and under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to police.The alleged victim told police Curley had clawed at her face, punched her and held her in a headlock. The alleged victim said she locked herself in the car for safety and did not want to press charges but that the defendant had warrants.Police said they went inside the home and had to grab Curley as she tried to attack the alleged victim. Curley refused to be handcuffed and attracted neighbors’ attention as she screamed and swore while placed in the cruiser, police said.Essex Assistant District Attorney Erin Bellavia said the Commonwealth was ready with motions that Curley be held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing and that Curley’s bail be revoked on a previous charge. The probation department also requested Curley be held pending a hearing for violating probation on a charge of possession of Class A drugs.Defense Attorney George Abi Esber said Curley would stipulate to being held without bail and would be screened as a candidate for Drug Court. Judge Cathleen Campbell accepted the agreement and scheduled Curley to return to court May 22.
